It wasn't until I was an adult that I fully grasped this. God is holy and humans strive for holiness. On this day in history, this man Jesus-in his humanity, took an absolutely grueling walk to suffer an absolutely grueling death-for all of us.
It is said we can't get to Easter without Good Friday and therefore, this day becomes "good". Today we quiet ourselves, we fast to cleanse, we pray and meditate on His passion and we focus on this incredible gift given all so we can celebrate the empty tomb on Sunday!
